Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trainee Tariff & Trade Classifier, focusing on government commerce. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a career in international trade compliance and learn the intricacies of tariff classification and trade regulations. You will receive comprehensive, hands-on training to develop expertise in classifying goods according to various tariff schedules, ensuring compliance with customs laws, and supporting our operations in the government commerce sector. Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured training program to learn tariff classification, trade regulations, and customs compliance procedures.
  • Assist senior classifiers in researching and applying appropriate tariff codes for a diverse range of products relevant to government contracts.
  • Learn to interpret and apply import/export regulations, trade agreements, and government agency guidelines.
  • Support the preparation and submission of accurate documentation for customs clearance.
  • Maintain and update classification databases with precise information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure trade compliance.
  • Stay informed about changes in trade legislation and customs requirements through continuous learning and internal training sessions.
