Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Senior UI/UX Designer to join our product team in Calgary. This pivotal role involves leading the design of intuitive, engaging, and impactful user experiences across our diverse product suite. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our platform, from initial concept to final implementation, working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process for complex features and products, from research and ideation to prototyping and final hand-off.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and analyze feedback to inform design decisions and uncover user needs.
- Create wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Develop high-fidelity mockups and detailed UI specifications for engineering teams, ensuring design consistency and brand adherence.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to define product strategy and deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Champion user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Mentor junior designers and contribute to fostering a strong design culture within the organization.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in UI/UX design.
- Present design solutions and defend decisions to internal teams and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in UI/UX design for web and/or mobile applications.
- A strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of UI/UX projects, demonstrating excellent problem-solving skills and aesthetic sensibility.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Expertise in user-centered design principles, information architecture, interaction design, and usability best practices.
- Solid understanding of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design.
- Experience conducting user research, interviews, and usability testing.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced agile environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Experience designing for enterprise-level SaaS platforms or complex data-rich applications.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
- Experience with design systems creation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
- Experience mentoring or leading other designers.
