Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Urban Farm Harvest Assistant to join our dedicated team in Katy, TX. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, appreciate early morning starts, and are committed to contributing to local food production. As a Harvest Assistant, you will be instrumental in the daily operations of our urban farm, focusing primarily on the harvesting and post-harvest handling of a variety of crops. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a positive attitude. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent entry-level position for those new to farming or horticulture.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily harvesting of various crops according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Carefully wash, sort, and pack harvested produce for market and distribution.
- Assist with planting, weeding, watering, and general crop care as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the farm facilities, including harvest areas and packing sheds.
- Operate basic farm tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all food safety and organic certification guidelines.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Monitor crop health and report any issues or concerns to farm management.
- Contribute to an early morning work schedule, allowing for early finishes.
- Participate in other farm tasks as required to support overall farm success.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, humidity, cold, rain).
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new farming techniques.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
