Job Description

Are you meticulous, detail-oriented, and possess excellent typing skills? Wiley is seeking a dedicated Virtual Study Notes Typist to join our remote team. In this contract role, you will be responsible for accurately typing, formatting, and organizing academic notes and study materials across various subjects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a flexible, remote environment and are committed to producing high-quality educational content. No prior experience in academic typing is required; comprehensive training will be provided to ensure your success. You will play a crucial part in supporting students and educators by transforming handwritten or raw notes into polished, accessible digital formats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately type and transcribe academic notes, lecture summaries, and study materials into digital formats.
  • Ensure all typed content is free from grammatical errors, typos, and formatting inconsistencies.
  • Organize and categorize notes according to specific academic subjects or guidelines.
  • Adhere to strict deadlines and quality standards for all assigned typing tasks.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all academic content.
  • Communicate effectively with team leads regarding progress and any challenges encountered.

Required Skills

  • Excellent English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Strong typing speed and accuracy (minimum 60 WPM recommended, but training available to improve).
  • Proficiency with word processing software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions.
  • Reliable internet connection and a personal computer.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently in a remote setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with various academic subjects (e.g., science, humanities, business).
  • Experience with academic formatting styles (e.g., APA, MLA, Chicago) is a plus, but not required.
  • Previous experience in data entry, transcription, or administrative roles is beneficial.
