Job Description
Join the XPO Logistics team as a Warehouse Packer! We’re looking for enthusiastic and reliable individuals to assist with light duties in our Mid-City New Orleans distribution center. This is an immediate start position with no prior experience required – we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. You’ll be responsible for carefully and efficiently packing various goods for shipment, ensuring they meet quality standards and are ready for timely delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and pack customer orders according to specified instructions.
- Inspect items for quality and ensure proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
- Label packages accurately with shipping information.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as needed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment safely after training (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
Required Skills
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 pounds regularly.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or production environment is a plus, but not required.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (WMS) is a bonus.
- Excellent communication skills.
