Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and physically capable individual to join our team as a Wildlife Rescue Center Laborer. This is an incredibly rewarding role, crucial to the well-being of the animals under our care, focusing on maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. While the work involves heavy cleaning and can be physically demanding, the direct impact of your efforts on animal recovery and welfare is immense. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience in animal care is necessary, but a strong work ethic and a compassionate heart are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily deep cleaning and sanitization of animal enclosures, pens, and communal areas.
  • Remove waste, soiled bedding, and other debris promptly and efficiently.
  • Clean and disinfect feeding utensils, water bowls, and other equipment.
  • Assist with general facility maintenance, including sweeping, mopping, and tidying work areas.
  • Handle and dispose of biological waste according to health and safety protocols.
  • Monitor cleaning supply levels and notify management when reordering is necessary.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and working around wildlife.
  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team environment.
  • Undertake other duties as required to ensure the smooth operation of the centre.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a cleaning or labor-intensive role.
  • Experience working in an animal care environment (e.g., kennels, farms, shelters).
  • Full UK driving license.
  • First Aid certification.
