Job Description

EF Education First is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated TEFL/ESL Teachers to deliver engaging online English lessons to students worldwide. This is a fantastic opportunity to work from the comfort of your home, setting your own schedule and making a real difference in students’ language journeys. You will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and helping students achieve their English proficiency goals. This 100% remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and interactive online English lessons to students of various age groups and proficiency levels.
  • Prepare lesson materials and activities that align with EF's curriculum guidelines.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assess student progress regularly.
  • Maintain a positive and supportive virtual classroom environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students and occasionally with parents regarding student performance and progress.
  • Attend occasional online professional development sessions as required.
  • Ensure a stable internet connection and a quiet teaching environment.

Required Skills

  • Native English speaker with excellent pronunciation and grammar skills.
  • Valid TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certification (minimum 120 hours).
  • Proficiency with online teaching platforms and basic computer skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and engage students effectively in a virtual setting.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection and a working computer/laptop with a webcam and headset.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, English, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Previous experience teaching English online or in a classroom setting.
  • Familiarity with various online teaching tools and methodologies.
  • Experience teaching children and/or adults.
