Job Description
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Corporate Event AV Setup Crew member to join our growing team. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality audio-visual services for various corporate events held in hotels and conference facilities throughout the region. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, detail-oriented, and possess a strong work ethic. You will be responsible for the setup, operation, and strike of AV equipment, ensuring all events run smoothly and professionally. This position requires regular travel to event sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport, set up, and dismantle a wide range of audio-visual equipment, including projectors, screens, microphones, soundboards, speakers, and lighting systems.
- Operate AV equipment during live events, ensuring flawless execution of presentations, audio, and visual content.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate effectively with event organizers, hotel staff, and internal teams to meet event requirements.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company guidelines during equipment handling and event setup.
- Provide exceptional on-site technical support and client service.
- Travel to various corporate event locations across New Brunswick and occasionally other Atlantic provinces.
Required Skills
- Basic understanding of audio-visual equipment setup and operation.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently within the region for events.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as dictated by event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in event production, audio-visual technology, or a related field.
- Post-secondary education or technical certifications in audio-visual production, electronics, or a related discipline.
- Experience with specific AV control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron) or mixing consoles.
- Familiarity with event logistics and hotel operational environments.
