Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Lighting Designer with a strong architectural focus to join our dynamic team in Noosa Heads. This role is integral to delivering innovative and sustainable lighting solutions for a diverse range of projects, from conceptual design through to commissioning. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and clients to integrate lighting seamlessly into the built environment, enhancing both aesthetics and functionality. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop creative and technically sound lighting design concepts for architectural projects.
  • Produce detailed lighting calculations, specifications, and drawings using industry-standard software.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders to ensure design integration and project success.
  • Conduct site visits, surveys, and commissioning to ensure quality and adherence to design intent.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and client expectations from inception to completion.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and sustainable design practices in lighting.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in lighting design software (e.g., AGI32, Dialux Evo).
  • Strong understanding of architectural lighting principles, controls, and relevant standards.
  • Experience with CAD software (Revit, AutoCAD) for design documentation.
  • Excellent visual and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing architectural lighting projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architectural Lighting Design, Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as LC (Lighting Certified) or IALD Associate membership.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design practices and LEED/Green Star certification requirements.
  • Experience with daylighting analysis and integration.
