Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and responsible individual to serve as a School Crossing Guard Supervisor. In this critical role, you will oversee and manage the operations of our school crossing guard program, ensuring the safety of children traveling to and from schools within Kansas City. This position involves direct supervision of crossing guards, scheduling, training, equipment management, and close coordination with schools, parents, and local law enforcement agencies. Your leadership will be vital in creating a secure environment for our community’s youngest pedestrians.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise, train, and evaluate a team of school crossing guards.
- Develop and manage crossing guard schedules to ensure adequate coverage at designated school crossings.
- Conduct regular site visits to observe crossing guard performance and identify areas for improvement or increased safety measures.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, equipment distribution, and training.
- Act as a liaison between the City, schools, parents, and law enforcement regarding crossing guard operations and safety concerns.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, complaints, or special requests related to school crossings.
- Ensure all crossing guards adhere to established safety protocols and regulations.
- Order, distribute, and maintain necessary equipment for crossing guards, such as vests, stop paddles, and whistles.
- Participate in community outreach and educational programs promoting pedestrian safety.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new crossing guards.
Required Skills

- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Experience in training or staff development.
