Job Description
Are you passionate about skincare and curious about the science behind beauty products? Glow Innovations Ltd. is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Cosmetic Formulation & Skin Care Intern to join our innovative R&D team in Swindon. This is an incredible entry-level opportunity for individuals with little to no prior experience in cosmetic formulation. We are committed to providing comprehensive training and mentorship, enabling you to develop foundational skills in the exciting world of cosmetic science. You will gain hands-on experience in laboratory techniques, ingredient research, and the development of new skincare formulations from concept to prototype.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior formulators in the preparation and testing of cosmetic prototypes.
- Conduct basic laboratory tasks including weighing raw materials, mixing, and pH adjustments.
- Document experimental data accurately and maintain detailed laboratory notebooks.
- Research new ingredients and formulation techniques under supervision.
- Support the R&D team in maintaining a clean and organised laboratory environment.
- Participate in sensory evaluation and stability testing of developed products.
- Learn and adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and good manufacturing practices (GMP).
Required Skills
- Strong interest in cosmetic science, chemistry, or related fields.
- Basic understanding of scientific principles and laboratory procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Eagerness to learn and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work as part of a team.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree/diploma in Chemistry, Pharmacy, Biology, Cosmetic Science, or a related scientific discipline.
- Previous experience with laboratory equipment (even academic projects) is a plus but not required.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
