Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Commercial Kitchen Hood Cleaner to join our night shift team in Sydney, Nova Scotia. This role is essential for maintaining hygiene and fire safety standards in various commercial kitchens. You will be responsible for disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, filters, ducts, and fans. This position offers premium pay for night shifts and full training will be provided to ensure you are equipped with the necessary skills and safety knowledge. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of commercial kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, filters, ducts, and exhaust fans.
- Disassemble and reassemble components of the exhaust system safely and efficiently.
- Apply appropriate cleaning agents and techniques to remove grease and debris.
- Inspect systems for damage or potential issues and report findings to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Complete required documentation and service reports accurately.
- Operate company vehicles to transport equipment to various client sites.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team during night shifts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to learn and adhere to industry best practices and safety standards.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for disassembling and reassembling equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience in a physical labor role, general maintenance, or cleaning is an asset.
- Experience working night shifts.
