Job Description
Join our dedicated team at Elis UK as a Laundry & Linen Route Driver. This critical role involves the safe and efficient delivery and collection of commercial laundry and linen from our diverse client base across the Bradford and wider West Yorkshire area. You will be responsible for maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring timely service, and upholding our high standards of professionalism. This position offers a rewarding career with consistent hours and the benefit of weekends off.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company vehicle (van or light truck) for scheduled routes.
- Deliver clean linen and collect soiled linen from commercial clients, including hotels, restaurants, and healthcare facilities.
- Ensure accurate counts of linen on delivery and collection, documenting discrepancies.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with all clients.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Load and unload vehicles efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution and secure storage of linen.
- Complete all necessary paperwork and use hand-held devices for route management.
- Work collaboratively with the dispatch and plant teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (Category B minimum).
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and move heavy bags of laundry (up to 25kg) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic numeracy and literacy for completing paperwork.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a multi-drop delivery or route driving role.
- Familiarity with the Bradford and surrounding West Yorkshire road network.
- Experience operating commercial vehicles (e.g., 3.5-ton vans).
- First Aid certification.
