Job Description
We are seeking a diligent and friendly Museum Cloakroom Attendant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role is perfect for individuals who appreciate a calm and organised working environment within a cultural setting. As a Cloakroom Attendant, you will be responsible for providing a secure and efficient service for our visitors’ belongings, ensuring a positive start and end to their museum experience. While previous direct experience isn’t required, a polite demeanour and a strong commitment to visitor service are essential. Full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet and assist museum visitors with the storage of their coats, bags, and other personal items.
- Issue and manage cloakroom tickets accurately, ensuring precise retrieval of items.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of the cloakroom area.
- Handle visitor enquiries related to cloakroom services with courtesy and efficiency.
- Adhere to all security procedures for safekeeping visitors' possessions.
- Report any lost items or security concerns promptly to appropriate staff.
- Assist with basic visitor orientation or information, if needed, maintaining the quiet atmosphere.
- Work collaboratively with other museum staff to ensure smooth operations.
