Key Responsibilities
- Assist nurses and dialysis technicians in providing direct patient care, ensuring comfort and safety during treatment.
- Prepare and set up dialysis equipment and treatment areas according to established protocols.
- Monitor patients during dialysis sessions, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff immediately.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including mobility and personal care, as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment within the dialysis unit.
- Document patient observations and care activities accurately under supervision.
- Replenish supplies and ensure all necessary items are readily available for patient care.
- Provide emotional support and engage in respectful communication with patients and their families.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Exceptional empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures and technologies.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to teamwork.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods, lift, and assist with patient transfers as required.
- No prior experience in healthcare or dialysis is necessary; full training will be provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (can be obtained upon hire).
- Previous experience in a customer service role.
- Bilingual proficiency (e.g., Spanish/English) is a plus.
