Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated BIM Coordinator / Manager to join our dynamic team in Sunderland. This pivotal role involves overseeing the implementation and coordination of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes across our diverse portfolio of infrastructure and building projects. You will be instrumental in driving digital transformation, ensuring compliance with BIM standards, and optimizing project delivery through advanced technological solutions. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage BIM coordination meetings, facilitating clash detection and resolution.
- Develop, implement, and enforce BIM execution plans (BEPs) and project-specific BIM standards in line with ISO 19650.
- Manage and maintain Common Data Environments (CDEs) to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams on BIM software and workflows (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360).
- Conduct quality control checks on BIM models to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to integrate BIM across all project phases.
- Identify opportunities for BIM process improvements and technological advancements.
- Assist in the development and delivery of BIM training programs for project staff.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks Manage, and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of BIM Level 2 and ISO 19650 standards.
- Experience with Common Data Environments (CDEs) like Autodesk BIM 360, Viewpoint for Projects, or similar.
- Proven ability to perform clash detection, model auditing, and resolve coordination issues.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- BIM certification (e.g., BRE Academy BIM Certifications, RICS BIM Manager).
- Experience with parametric modelling and computational design tools.
- Familiarity with various construction methodologies and project delivery systems.
- Experience in infrastructure or large-scale building projects.
