Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Production Supervisor to join our manufacturing facility in Bath. This role is crucial for overseeing daily production operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety standards are consistently met. The successful candidate will lead and motivate a team of production operatives, manage workflow, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is LMIA approved, welcoming qualified international candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production personnel, ensuring adherence to production schedules and targets.
- Monitor production processes to ensure product quality meets established standards and specifications.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Identify and resolve production issues, collaborating with engineering and quality departments as needed.
- Train, coach, and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
- Manage workflow, assign tasks, and ensure optimal utilization of resources and equipment.
- Maintain accurate production records, including output, downtime, and quality metrics.
- Participate in lean manufacturing initiatives and other process improvement projects.
- Conduct performance reviews and manage disciplinary actions when necessary.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or similar leadership role in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (LMIA will be provided for qualified international candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification.
- Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- First Aid certification.
