Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA) to join our team within a supportive school environment in Swansea. As a TA, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of our students, working closely with teachers to create an engaging and inclusive classroom atmosphere. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about education, eager to make a positive impact on young lives, and looking to contribute to a thriving educational community.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with varying educational needs.
- Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering engaging learning activities and resources.
- Help to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and safe learning environment.
- Support students during lessons, break times, and extra-curricular activities.
- Assist with the assessment and tracking of student progress.
- Foster an inclusive environment, ensuring all students feel valued and supported.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other staff members regarding student progress and well-being.
- Undertake administrative duties as required, such as preparing displays and organizing materials.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to working with children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT proficiency (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience working with children or young people in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- First Aid qualification.
