Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and driven Compositing & Nuke VFX Intern to join our dynamic team. This is an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring VFX artists to gain hands-on experience, learn from industry veterans, and contribute to exciting projects. As an Intern, you will be immersed in the world of professional visual effects, specifically focusing on compositing techniques using The Foundry’s Nuke software. We are looking for individuals with a strong eagerness to learn, a keen eye for detail, and a foundational understanding of visual aesthetics. No prior professional experience is required; we are committed to providing comprehensive training and mentorship to help you grow your skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior compositors with various tasks, including rotoscoping, keying, paint-out, and plate clean-up.
- Learn and apply fundamental compositing principles using Nuke software under guidance.
- Organize and manage project files, ensuring proper naming conventions and version control.
- Participate in daily reviews and actively incorporate feedback into your work.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as lighting, animation, and matte painting, to ensure seamless integration of VFX elements.
- Stay current with industry trends, software advancements, and best practices in visual effects.
- Contribute positively to a supportive and creative team environment.
Required Skills
- Strong passion for visual effects and a desire to build a career in compositing.
- Basic understanding of compositing principles and visual aesthetics.
- Familiarity with Nuke software, or a strong aptitude for learning complex software quickly.
- Excellent attention to detail and a keen eye for color, light, and perspective.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to take direction and adapt to feedback in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Some completed coursework in visual effects, animation, film production, or a related field.
- A portfolio showcasing personal projects, student work, or academic exercises in compositing or related visual arts.
- Basic understanding of other VFX software (e.g., Photoshop, After Effects).
- Familiarity with Python scripting for Nuke is a plus, but not required.
