Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Water Resources Engineering Intern to join our Utilities team in Stephenville, TX. This is an exceptional opportunity for an aspiring engineer to gain practical experience in the water and wastewater industry. The intern will support various projects related to water resource management, utility infrastructure design, and environmental compliance, working alongside experienced engineers and project managers. This role is designed for individuals with little to no prior professional experience, providing comprehensive training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist engineers with data collection, analysis, and report preparation for water and wastewater projects.
  • Support the design and modeling of hydraulic systems, water distribution networks, and wastewater collection systems.
  • Conduct research on regulatory requirements, best practices, and emerging technologies in water resources.
  • Prepare technical drawings and specifications using CAD software under supervision.
  • Participate in field visits to project sites to gather information and observe operations.
  • Collaborate with project teams on various aspects of project development and execution.
  • Perform calculations and analyses for storm water management, flood control, and utility master planning.

Required Skills

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and a strong interest in water resources engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation).
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software (e.g., WaterCAD, SewerCAD, HEC-RAS) is a plus but not required.
  • Previous coursework or projects related to hydraulics, hydrology, or water/wastewater treatment.
