Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Radiographer to join our dynamic Radiology Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a leading NHS Trust, utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and contributing to exceptional patient outcomes. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering compassionate and efficient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations according to established protocols.
  • Ensure patient identification, consent, and safety throughout the imaging process.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of imaging equipment, including X-ray, CT, and MRI scanners.
  • Accurately position patients for imaging procedures and adjust exposure factors as required.
  • Review and evaluate images for diagnostic quality, making necessary adjustments.
  • Provide clear explanations to patients about procedures, addressing any concerns.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to data collection.
  • Adhere to all radiation safety regulations and departmental policies.
  • Participate in on-call rotas and weekend shifts as required by service needs.
  • Engage in continuous professional development and training opportunities.

Required Skills

  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Demonstrable experience as a Radiographer, ideally within an NHS setting.
  • Proficiency in operating various diagnostic imaging equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong commitment to patient care and safety.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced clinical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-graduate experience in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, Interventional Radiology).
  • Experience with RIS/PACS systems.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development beyond mandatory requirements.
  • Experience in training or supervising junior staff.
