Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled E-Learning Specialist / Technologist to join our dynamic Global Learning & Development team based in Aberdeen. In this hybrid role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and implementing engaging and effective e-learning solutions that support our global workforce’s continuous professional development. You will leverage the latest instructional design methodologies and e-learning technologies to create innovative learning experiences, ensuring they align with our strategic objectives and foster a culture of excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement engaging e-learning courses, modules, and learning pathways using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise 360).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to transform complex technical content into clear, concise, and interactive learning experiences.
  • Apply instructional design principles (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning theories to create effective learning solutions.
  • Manage and administer our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring content is organized, accessible, and up-to-date.
  • Develop multimedia assets, including graphics, animations, audio, and video, to enhance learning content.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify learning gaps and propose suitable e-learning interventions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of e-learning programs through data analysis and feedback, making continuous improvements.
  • Stay current with emerging e-learning technologies, trends, and best practices, recommending innovative solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to learners and internal stakeholders on e-learning platforms and tools.
  • Ensure all e-learning content adheres to accessibility standards and company branding guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in instructional design and e-learning development.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline 360, Articulate Rise 360, or Adobe Captivate.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design models.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) administration and content publishing.
  • Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and engaging learning content.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Portfolio showcasing e-learning development work (if available).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Camtasia).
  • Knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Experience in the energy, engineering, or industrial sectors.
  • Familiarity with SCORM, xAPI, and other e-learning standards.
  • Certification in instructional design or e-learning technologies.
