Job Description
We are actively seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Food Prepper to join our back-of-house team in our new ghost kitchen operation in Rockford. This is an immediate start position designed for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment and are passionate about food preparation. As a Ghost Kitchen Food Prepper, you will be instrumental in ensuring all ingredients are meticulously prepared according to our strict quality and safety standards, directly contributing to the delicious meals our customers love. Full training will be provided to ensure you are confident and competent in all aspects of the role, making this an excellent opportunity for those looking to start or advance their career in culinary arts without prior extensive experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute precise ingredient preparation tasks including washing, chopping, slicing, and dicing a variety of fresh produce, meats, and other food items.
- Follow recipes and preparation guidelines accurately to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation at all times, adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, including receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely order fulfillment.
- Support the culinary team with additional tasks as needed to maintain operational excellence.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles (or willingness to learn immediately).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in a kitchen or food service environment (even if minimal).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Handler's Card or willingness to obtain one upon hire.
- Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new procedures.
