Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented ATO Revenue Officer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. This role focuses on federal finance, encompassing activities from taxpayer engagement and compliance to revenue assessment and debt management. As a key contributor, you will play a vital role in upholding the integrity of Australia’s tax system, providing essential services to the community, and ensuring fair and equitable treatment for all taxpayers. You will be responsible for interpreting and applying complex tax legislation, resolving enquiries, and contributing to vital federal financial operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of taxpayer accounts, ensuring timely and accurate processing of tax returns and assessments.
- Conduct investigations into tax compliance, identifying potential discrepancies and taking appropriate action.
- Provide clear, concise, and accurate advice to taxpayers regarding their tax obligations and entitlements.
- Engage with individuals and businesses to facilitate compliance with tax and superannuation laws.
- Resolve complex tax enquiries and disputes, escalating issues as necessary.
- Assist in debt management and recovery processes, negotiating payment plans where appropriate.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian tax legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Contribute to team goals and objectives, fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
