Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Audit Manager to join our dynamic team in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. As an Audit Manager, you will be instrumental in leading audit engagements, managing client relationships, and developing junior staff. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and finalize audit engagements in accordance with professional standards and firm methodology.
- Lead and manage engagement teams, including reviewing work of junior staff and providing constructive feedback.
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and understanding their business needs.
- Identify and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues.
- Prepare comprehensive audit reports and financial statements.
- Monitor engagement budgets and timelines, ensuring profitability and efficiency.
- Contribute to the development and mentoring of staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Keep abreast of changes in accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of progressive audit experience, preferably within a Big 4 or Top 10 accounting firm.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and ASPE/ASPE for NFPs.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in audit software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience auditing clients in the agriculture, manufacturing, or public sector industries.
- Master's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Experience with data analytics tools in an audit context.
