Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our culinary team at Canyon Vista Senior Living. This is a full-time position with daytime hours, perfect for individuals looking for a consistent schedule. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our residents receive high-quality, appealing meals in a clean and safe environment. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals and snacks according to planned menus and dietary restrictions.
- Deliver food carts to resident dining areas and rooms, ensuring timely service.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, dishes, and dining areas to maintain strict hygiene standards.
- Assist residents with meal selection and provide excellent customer service during dining times.
- Monitor food temperatures and ensure proper storage of food items.
- Stock and organize food service supplies.
- Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and food handling policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with culinary team members and other staff.
- Assist in setting up and clearing dining areas.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation principles (training provided).
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 pounds, and perform repetitive tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in a food service setting, particularly in a healthcare or senior living environment (not required, but a plus).
- Current Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain one upon hire.
