Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Bridge Design Engineer to join our dynamic transportation team in Spokane, WA. This is an exceptional opportunity for an individual passionate about infrastructure to contribute to the design and analysis of various bridge projects, from conceptualization through construction. You will work on a variety of challenging projects, utilizing advanced engineering software and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for various bridge types (e.g., steel, concrete, prestressed concrete).
  • Develop detailed engineering plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with relevant codes and standards (AASHTO, WSDOT).
  • Prepare technical reports, design calculations, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with project managers, senior engineers, and other discipline leads.
  • Participate in site visits, inspections, and construction support activities.
  • Utilize CADD software (e.g., MicroStation, AutoCAD) for design and drafting tasks.
  • Assist in project pursuits and proposal development.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, CSiBridge, LARSA 4D).
  • Strong understanding of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.
  • Experience with CADD software (MicroStation preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Experience with WSDOT design standards and procedures.
  • Familiarity with Bridge Information Modeling (BrIM) tools.
  • Prior experience working on complex transportation infrastructure projects.
