Job Description

Always Home HomeCare is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Domiciliary Care Workers to join our growing team in New Glasgow and surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with no prior experience in caregiving, as we provide comprehensive, fully paid training to equip you with all the skills needed to excel. We understand the commitment involved in home care, which is why we also offer paid travel time between clients, ensuring your efforts are fully recognized. Key Responsibilities
- Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Provide support with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Help with light household tasks such as meal preparation, tidying, and laundry.
- Assist with medication reminders as per care plan.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities.
- Accompany clients to appointments and outings as needed.
- Observe and report any changes in clients' health or behaviour to the care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and client observations.
- Adhere strictly to all care plans and company policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to learn and commit to ongoing training.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping.
- First Aid and CPR certification (training can be provided if not held).
