Job Description

Penske Logistics is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Inventory Planning Manager to join our dynamic team in Terre Haute, Indiana. This critical role is responsible for overseeing and optimizing inventory levels across our distribution networks, ensuring product availability while minimizing carrying costs. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain inventory planning strategies to meet demand forecasts and service level agreements.
  • Monitor inventory performance, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to optimize stock levels and reduce obsolescence.
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, and sales teams to align inventory plans with business objectives.
  • Utilize advanced planning systems and tools to generate accurate forecasts and inventory targets.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management processes and systems.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on inventory health, key performance indicators, and strategic recommendations to senior management.
  • Manage and mentor a team of inventory analysts, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures related to inventory control and safety.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in inventory management, supply chain planning, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Expertise in inventory planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA, Kinaxis).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience managing a team.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (e.g., APICS CSCP, CPIM).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Familiarity with international logistics and customs regulations.
  • Experience managing inventory across multiple distribution centers or global regions.
