Job Description
Are you physically fit, eager to learn, and ready to tackle exciting challenges at heights? Badger Event & Production Services is seeking a motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Lighting Technician’s Mate. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with little to no prior experience in lighting or rigging, but who possesses a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and the physical capability to assist with climbing and rigging tasks. You will work alongside experienced technicians, learning the ins and outs of event lighting setup, maintenance, and safe rigging practices. This role offers high pay for demanding but rewarding work, providing comprehensive training to ensure your success and safety. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead lighting technicians with the setup, operation, and teardown of lighting equipment for various events.
- Learn and apply safe rigging techniques, including securing equipment, running cables, and operating lifts under supervision.
- Work comfortably and safely at heights, including climbing ladders, utilizing aerial work platforms, and assisting with truss systems.
- Support the maintenance and organization of lighting and rigging equipment.
- Follow all company safety protocols and industry best practices meticulously.
- Load and unload equipment, ensuring proper handling and transportation.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace on job sites.
- Participate actively in all training programs and safety briefings.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Strong physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and work for extended periods.
- Comfort and willingness to work at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Eagerness to learn new technical skills and production processes.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- No prior experience in lighting or rigging required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Experience in a physically demanding role (e.g., construction, warehouse, athletics).
- Interest in live events, concerts, or theatrical production.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain).
