Job Description

Are you passionate about live music and eager to kickstart a career in event production? Adlib Audio is seeking a motivated and physically fit Live Sound Engineering Assistant to join our dedicated team. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals who are ready to learn the ropes of live sound, are comfortable with heavy lifting, and thrive in fast-paced concert and festival environments. You’ll work closely with experienced engineers, gaining hands-on experience with state-of-the-art audio equipment, cabling, and system setup/teardown. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity to grow within the live events industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the loading and unloading of audio equipment from vehicles, which involves regular heavy lifting.
  • Support senior sound engineers with the setup, cabling, and configuration of sound systems at various venues.
  • Manage and organize audio cables, ensuring neatness and safety during setup and operation.
  • Participate in the strike (teardown) of equipment post-event, ensuring all gear is packed securely.
  • Learn to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot common audio equipment under supervision.
  • Help maintain a clean and organized workspace and equipment storage areas.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines and company procedures diligently.
  • Be a proactive and positive team member, ready to assist wherever needed.

  • Ability to perform heavy lifting regularly and safely.
  • Strong work ethic and a proactive, 'can-do' attitude.
  • Reliable and punctual with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment.
  • Eagerness to learn about live sound production and audio technology.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by event schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A full UK driving license (Category B) is highly advantageous.
  • Basic understanding or interest in audio equipment and live music production.
  • Previous experience in a physical role or manual labor.
  • First Aid certification is a plus.
