Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Neurology Specialist to join our dynamic team in Leicester. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an internationally trained professional to work within the UK’s National Health Service, with full sponsorship provided. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with a wide range of neurological disorders, contributing to our mission of delivering outstanding patient care and advancing neurological science. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive neurological examinations and assessments of patients.
- Diagnose and manage various neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and headaches.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as MRI, CT scans, EEGs, and nerve conduction studies.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management and lifestyle advice.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including neurosurgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
- Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and on-call rotations as required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Contribute to continuous professional development and participate in relevant training and educational activities.
- Adhere to all clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures of the Trust.
Required Skills
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and relevant specialist qualification in Neurology.
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) or eligibility for immediate registration.
- Demonstrable clinical experience in neurology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a sub-specialty of neurology (e.g., neurophysiology, movement disorders, epilepsy).
- Evidence of participation in clinical audits or research projects.
- Fellowship or membership of a Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working within the NHS system.
