Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team in Melton Mowbray. This is an exciting opportunity for qualified Occupational Therapists from around the world to practice in the UK, as international sponsorship is available for eligible candidates. You will be instrumental in helping patients regain independence, improve well-being, and achieve their personal goals through assessment, planning, and delivery of occupational therapy interventions across various clinical settings. Our Trust is committed to supporting our international recruits through the relocation and registration process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments for individuals with diverse health needs, including physical, mental health, and learning disabilities.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, setting patient-centred goals.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications to enhance functional independence.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, liaising with other healthcare professionals, families, and carers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in accordance with professional and Trust standards.
- Participate in clinical supervision, continuing professional development, and service improvement initiatives.
- Educate patients and their families on self-management techniques and preventative strategies.
Required Skills
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
- Current or eligible for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK
- Demonstrable experience working as an Occupational Therapist in a clinical setting (post-qualification)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous professional development
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience within the NHS or a similar healthcare system
- Specialist experience in areas such as mental health, physical rehabilitation, or community care
- Evidence of post-graduate training or specialist courses relevant to occupational therapy practice
