Job Description
We are seeking dedicated and empathetic individuals to join our team as Residential Care Workers for the night shift at our Sunderland facility. This is an incredible opportunity for compassionate individuals who are looking to start a rewarding career in care, as full and comprehensive training will be provided – absolutely no prior experience is necessary! As a Night Shift Residential Care Worker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety, comfort, and well-being of our residents throughout the night. You will provide essential support, respond to resident needs, and maintain a peaceful and secure environment, allowing residents and their families to rest easy.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular welfare checks on residents throughout the night, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Assist residents with personal care tasks as needed, respecting their dignity and privacy.
- Administer medication in accordance with care plans and training (after relevant training and certification).
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency calls or unusual incidents.
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records, updating logs and communicating effectively with the day shift team.
- Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents who may feel lonely or anxious during the night.
- Assist with light domestic duties to maintain a clean and tidy environment.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience, even informal, in a care-giving capacity (e.g., caring for a family member).
- A basic understanding of first aid principles.
- An NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (not essential, as training will be provided).
