Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telecommunications Tower Engineer to join our team in Gaspé, Quebec. This role is crucial for the design, analysis, and maintenance of our extensive telecommunications tower infrastructure. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our network, contributing to our mission of connecting communities across Canada. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of telecommunications towers and supporting structures.
  • Conduct site inspections and surveys to assess existing infrastructure and identify maintenance needs.
  • Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for new installations and upgrades.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, field technicians, and other engineering teams to ensure project success.
  • Manage and oversee contractors during tower construction, modification, and maintenance projects.
  • Provide technical support and guidance for tower-related issues and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate new technologies and materials for potential application in tower infrastructure.
  • Prepare cost estimates and schedules for engineering projects.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, RISA-3D, tnxTower).
  • Strong understanding of steel and concrete design principles.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various tower sites.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or eligibility for licensure in Quebec.
  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with Canadian building codes and structural design standards.
  • Prior experience with international project work or diverse engineering environments.
  • Fluency in French is an asset.
