Job Description
Are you a passionate music lover with a keen interest in vinyl records? Sonic Groove Records is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Part-Time Shop Assistant to join our friendly team in Penistone. This is an incredible opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for music and a desire to work in a unique retail environment. No prior experience in retail is necessary; we believe in training the right person who brings a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You will be responsible for assisting customers, managing inventory, and contributing to the welcoming atmosphere that defines our shop.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with their inquiries and purchases, offering recommendations and advice on vinyl records
- Process sales accurately using our point-of-sale system and handle cash and card transactions
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop floor, including shelving and display areas
- Restock shelves and displays with new and used vinyl, ensuring attractive presentation
- Assist with receiving and processing new inventory, including pricing and cataloguing records
- Help organize in-store events, listening parties, and promotional activities
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all customers
Required Skills
- Genuine passion for music and vinyl records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused attitude
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
