Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous WFH Finance Officer to join our dynamic finance team. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in Australia, with a strong preference for candidates based in the ACT region to align with team meeting times and potential occasional meetups. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for managing payroll processing and invoicing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Australian payroll legislation, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be an integral part of our finance department, contributing to the smooth financial operations of the company.
Key Responsibilities
- Process end-to-end payroll for all employees in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to relevant awards, agreements, and legislation.
- Manage all aspects of invoicing, including generating, sending, and tracking invoices for services rendered.
- Reconcile payroll and invoicing accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and submit payroll-related reports, including superannuation, PAYG, and other statutory requirements.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to payroll and invoicing.
- Respond to employee queries regarding payroll and leave entitlements.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee and client financial records.
- Implement and ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll and/or accounts payable/receivable.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB).
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and tax requirements.
- Excellent data entry and organizational skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience with large-scale payroll systems.
- Previous experience in a fully remote role.
- Knowledge of general ledger reconciliation.
