Job Description
Are you looking to start a career in woodworking and manufacturing? Travis Perkins PLC is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Wood Shop Sanding Assistant to join our team in Keighley. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required, as full training will be provided. You will be an integral part of our wood shop operations, ensuring the quality finish of various timber products. The role operates within a dusty environment, but your safety is our top priority, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and mandatory to wear.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sanding and finishing tasks on a variety of wood products using hand tools and power sanders.
- Inspect finished surfaces for quality, ensuring they meet company standards.
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment, ensuring a tidy and safe workstation.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of timber materials as required.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations and wear provided PPE at all times.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
