Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Emergency Dispatch Assistant to join our critical Police & Fire Support team in Canning Vale. This entry-level role is perfect for individuals with excellent communication skills, a calm demeanor, and a strong desire to serve the community. Full comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the knowledge and tools necessary to excel in this high-impact environment. You will be the crucial first point of contact, ensuring emergency calls are handled with precision, empathy, and urgency, directly contributing to the safety and well-being of Western Australians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and accurately process emergency and non-emergency calls from the public.
  • Gather critical information quickly and efficiently to determine the nature and urgency of incidents.
  • Input data into Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) systems with speed and accuracy.
  • Provide clear, concise, and calming instructions to callers in distress, prior to emergency services arrival.
  • Relay vital information to police, fire, and other emergency response units.
  • Monitor radio channels and maintain communication with field units.
  • Maintain meticulous records and logs of all communications and dispatch activities.
  • Adhere to all protocols, procedures, and ethical guidelines for emergency dispatch operations.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
