Job Description
Join Sysco, the global leader in foodservice distribution, as a Cold Storage Picker in our Omaha, NE facility. This critical role involves accurately selecting and staging products in a sub-zero environment, ensuring our customers receive the right items at the right time. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately picking customer orders from designated freezer locations using voice-picking systems or other warehouse technology.
- Operating pallet jacks, forklifts, or other material handling equipment safely and efficiently (training provided if needed).
- Verifying product quality, quantity, and codes to ensure order accuracy.
- Palletizing and staging products for shipment, ensuring proper labeling and securing.
- Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures, especially those related to cold storage and equipment operation.
- Maintaining a clean and organized work environment within the cold storage area.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work consistently and safely in a cold storage environment (temperatures as low as -10°F to 0°F).
- Basic math skills to verify order quantities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Physical stamina to lift and move heavy products repeatedly (up to 50 lbs.) throughout a shift.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Experience operating material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- High School Diploma or GED.
