Job Description
Are you a passionate creative arts student eager to gain practical, hands-on experience in a vibrant gallery environment? Mandurah Performing Arts Centre (ManPAC) is offering an exciting student placement opportunity focused on gallery operations. This placement is designed for individuals currently studying creative arts, art history, museum studies, or related fields who are looking to apply their academic knowledge in a professional setting. As a Creative Arts Student Placement, you will immerse yourself in the day-to-day workings of a dynamic arts venue, contributing to the presentation and appreciation of visual arts within our community. No prior professional experience is required; full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, installation, and de-installation of art exhibitions, ensuring proper handling and display.
- Support daily gallery operations, including opening and closing procedures, and maintaining gallery presentation standards.
- Engage with gallery visitors, providing information about exhibitions, artists, and ManPAC programs.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to gallery management, such as inventory documentation and scheduling.
- Contribute to the promotion of exhibitions through social media, website updates, and print materials.
- Shadow ManPAC staff across various departments to gain a comprehensive understanding of arts administration.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for enhancing visitor experience and gallery programming.
