Job Description
As a Color Consultant – Design & Branding at DuluxGroup, you will be the go-to expert for clients seeking professional guidance on color selection and design integration. You will work directly with residential and commercial customers, architects, and designers to bring their visions to life through the thoughtful application of our extensive product range. This role requires a keen eye for aesthetics, an understanding of current design trends, and the ability to articulate complex color theory in an accessible manner. You will provide tailored consultations, develop comprehensive color schemes, and ensure brand consistency where required, enhancing the overall client experience and contributing to successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct one-on-one color consultations with clients in-store, on-site, or virtually.
- Develop comprehensive and cohesive color schemes for residential and commercial projects.
- Provide expert advice on paint finishes, product suitability, and application techniques.
- Stay updated with local and international design trends, color forecasts, and new product releases.
- Collaborate with sales teams to support client needs and drive product sales.
- Prepare and present design concepts and mood boards to clients.
- Maintain an organized sample library and consultation resources.
- Assist in promotional events and workshops focused on color and design.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in color consulting, interior design, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of color theory, design principles, and visual aesthetics.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp) is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple client projects simultaneously.
- Customer-focused approach with a passion for delivering outstanding service.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for occasional site visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, Graphic Design, or a related creative discipline.
- Experience working with paint and coatings products.
- Portfolio demonstrating successful color and design projects.
- Knowledge of sustainable design practices and materials.
