Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Waste Transfer Attendant to join our team at a Council Waste Transfer Site in Bunbury. This entry-level role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and safe operation of our facility, assisting residents with waste disposal, and maintaining a clean and organised site. Full training will be provided to the successful candidate, focusing on site operations, safety protocols, and customer service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist members of the public with the correct sorting and disposal of various waste materials.
  • Monitor waste intake, ensuring compliance with site regulations and safety standards.
  • Operate site equipment as required (e.g., compactors, forklifts – training provided if necessary).
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the waste transfer station, including litter control and sweeping.
  • Identify and report any hazardous materials or non-compliant waste.
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service to all site users.
  • Adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
  • Assist with traffic management and pedestrian safety on site.
