Job Description

Join Green Options as a Part-time Gardener and contribute to maintaining the beauty and health of various outdoor spaces in Toowoomba. This role involves day work, focusing on general garden maintenance tasks, ensuring our clients’ properties look their best. You will work as part of a dedicated team, utilizing your gardening skills to provide high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general garden maintenance, including mowing, edging, weeding, and pruning.
  • Planting and maintaining garden beds, ensuring proper soil health and plant care.
  • Operating and maintaining various gardening tools and light machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Identifying and reporting plant health issues, pests, and diseases.
  • Ensuring worksites are kept clean, tidy, and safe for both team members and the public.
  • Following established work schedules and completing tasks efficiently.
  • Adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 12 months of practical gardening or landscaping experience.
  • Basic knowledge of plant care, common garden pests, and diseases.
  • Ability to safely operate standard gardening equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers, blowers).
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in Horticulture or a related field.
  • Current Australian Driver's License (manual preferred).
  • Experience with irrigation systems.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Chemical User Accreditation (ACUP).
