Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Rooms to lead the operational excellence of our luxury hotel in Savannah, GA. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of the Rooms Division, including Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Valet, ensuring an unparalleled guest experience reflective of The Kessler Collection’s high standards. The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a proven track record in luxury hospitality, an unwavering commitment to service excellence, and a passion for developing high-performing teams. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the entire Rooms Division team, fostering a culture of exceptional service and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily operations of the Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Services, and Valet departments, ensuring adherence to brand standards and guest satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance guest experiences, increase guest loyalty, and optimize departmental profitability.
  • Manage departmental budgets, payroll, and financial performance, ensuring cost control while maintaining luxury service levels.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate Rooms Division staff, providing regular feedback and development opportunities.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments (e.g., F&B, Sales, Engineering) to ensure seamless hotel operations.
  • Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly and efficiently, turning challenges into opportunities for service recovery.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and security regulations.
  • Actively participate in the hotel's executive committee and contribute to overall strategic planning and decision-making.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership experience in a luxury hotel Rooms Division, with at least 3 years as a Director of Rooms or Assistant Director of Rooms.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Front Office operations, Housekeeping management, and guest services.
  • Strong financial acumen with proven ability to manage budgets, forecast, and control costs.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with a track record of inspiring and developing staff.
  • Profound understanding of luxury hospitality service standards and guest experience enhancement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in hotel management systems (PMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required by hotel operations.
  • Legal eligibility to work in the US (visa sponsorship may be considered for exceptional candidates).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Multilingual abilities are a plus.
  • Experience opening or renovating a luxury hotel.
  • Proven experience with Forbes and AAA Diamond standards.
