Job Description
Are you detail-oriented, have excellent listening skills, and enjoy watching videos? We are seeking a dedicated Remote Subtitle & Caption Writer to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position is perfect for individuals looking to start a career in media accessibility, requiring no prior experience. You will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio content, creating precise subtitles and captions, and ensuring they are perfectly synchronized with video playback. Full training will be provided to help you master the necessary tools and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe audio content from various video formats into accurate text.
- Create timed subtitles and captions that are synchronized precisely with on-screen audio and video.
- Review and edit your work to ensure grammatical correctness, spelling accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
- Adapt captions for different audience needs, including those with hearing impairments (SDH – Subtitles for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing).
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high quality and meeting deadlines.
- Collaborate with content creators and project managers to ensure consistency and quality.
Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language (grammar, spelling, punctuation).
- Strong listening and comprehension skills.
- Proficient typing speed and accuracy.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic computer literacy and comfort with new software.
