Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Recovery Coordinator to join our Finance team in Wollongong. This critical role is responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of the bank’s business recovery and continuity plans specifically within the finance division. You will work closely with various stakeholders to identify potential risks, ensure operational resilience, and facilitate swift recovery in the event of disruptions, safeguarding the bank’s financial integrity and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and periodic review of business continuity plans (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies for finance operations.
  • Coordinate and facilitate business impact analyses (BIAs) and risk assessments for financial processes and systems.
  • Organize and support BCP/DR testing exercises, including scenario planning, tabletop exercises, and full-scale simulations.
  • Maintain and update BCP documentation, contact lists, and critical resource inventories.
  • Provide training and awareness programs to finance staff on business continuity procedures.
  • Liaise with internal departments (IT, Operations, Risk) and external vendors to ensure alignment of recovery strategies.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to business continuity within the financial sector.
  • Support incident management and recovery efforts during actual disruptions, acting as a key point of contact for finance-related recovery activities.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on business continuity status, testing outcomes, and identified gaps for management.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or operational resilience, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Certification in Business Continuity (e.g., CBCP, MBCI).
  • Experience with BCP software or GRC platforms.
