Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Software Engineering Manager to lead high-performing teams in our College Station facility. This pivotal role involves overseeing the entire software development lifecycle, from conceptualization to deployment, for critical enterprise solutions. You will be responsible for fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement, while strategically guiding your team to deliver robust, scalable, and high-quality software. This position comes with a full executive relocation package to support your move to the vibrant College Station area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a high-performance and collaborative environment.
  • Drive the technical strategy and roadmap for software products, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, UX/UI, and other engineering teams to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
  • Implement and champion best practices in software development, including agile methodologies, code reviews, and automated testing.
  • Manage resource allocation, project timelines, and performance metrics for the engineering team.
  • Actively participate in the hiring, onboarding, and performance management processes for team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure our solutions remain competitive and cutting-edge.
  • Represent the team in technical discussions and decision-making processes with senior leadership and external stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong background in architecting and developing complex systems.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a software engineering leadership or management role, leading teams of 8+ engineers.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale software projects from inception to production.
  • Deep understanding of modern software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency in one or more major programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C++, Go) and related frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a strategic mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.
  • Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data processing technologies.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML integration into software products.
  • Experience managing remote or geographically distributed teams.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer).
