Job Description
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic School Canteen Assistant to join our team in Bunbury. This is a casual, part-time position operating during school term times only, ideal for someone looking for flexible day shifts. As a Canteen Assistant, you will play a crucial role in preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks to students and staff, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and providing excellent customer service. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or re-enter the workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and cooking of a variety of menu items, including sandwiches, salads, hot food, and snacks.
- Serve food and beverages to students and staff in a friendly and efficient manner.
- Operate the till, handle cash and card payments accurately.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the canteen, kitchen, and dining areas.
- Wash dishes, clean kitchen equipment, and ensure all areas are tidy at all times.
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory checks, and unpacking deliveries.
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and school policies.
- Contribute to a positive and welcoming atmosphere within the canteen.

Preferred Qualifications

- Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one.
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willingness to obtain one.
