Job Description

NT Seafoods Pty Ltd, a leader in sustainable seafood processing in the Northern Territory, is seeking diligent and reliable individuals to join our team as Fish Processing Operatives. We are committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment, and for this role, all clean gear is provided. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in the food production industry, with full training provided. No prior experience is necessary. As a Fish Processing Operative, you will play a crucial role in preparing our high-quality seafood products for distribution. You will work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment, ensuring all products meet our strict quality and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handling and processing various types of fish and seafood products.
  • Sorting, filleting, trimming, and packaging seafood according to specifications.
  • Operating and cleaning processing equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Adhering to strict food safety and hygiene regulations at all times.
  • Performing quality checks on products to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Assisting with other general duties as required by supervisors.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work effectively in a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Physical stamina and ability to perform repetitive tasks, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 15 kg.
  • Comfortable working in a temperature-controlled environment.
  • Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and team communication.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or similar environment (though not required).
  • A current Food Handling or Food Safety Certificate.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transport.
